Cathie Hogan's Zebra Crossing

Here is a fantastic take on the Zebra Crossing pattern made by Cathie Hogan of Torquay, Victoria.  Cathie has made the zebra up on a white background fabric then cut around the outside of the whole applique then placed the zebra into a pink background. Cathie comments that " the quilt was made on a pink background as it is anticipated it may become a baby girl's quilt and that after much debate and discussion amongst friends she decided to add a tail".The tail is a nice touch and I just love it! The zebra's in each corner were cut out from printed fabric and appliquéd

Metal Leaf Butterfly by Dennise

Metal Leaf Butterfly made by Dennise of Brisbane.

This was made from the show special pack which includes full instructions and the free Butterfly pattern.

"Hi Sue Here is my butterfly effort I ordered from u last week. I used Metallic thread for the butterflies feelers had no idea what else to use but it seems OK .  I found the ('No Sew' Applique) Press N Bond very easy to use, I've never used it before & I'll be using again now that I've had a taste pf it.
Thank u for the quick delivery via our courier it's great when it arrives at work ... I can always find time to open my delivery & have a good old read of the instructions that I found very easy to follow.  Thank u Sue.  from Dennise.

TigerTiger by Ann Breakwell

Ann's Tiger Tiger quilt is a fantastic example what you can do by adding your own border to the basic pattern.  It looks unreal Ann, well done. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

Hi Susan Good to see you at the Quilt Show ...Have attached photo of tiger ----he's up on the dining room wall ---the colours (in the photo) aren't quite "true" but you get the idea. Thanks for your help again and cheers.  Ann Breakwell

Shelagh from Perth made her Bollyfant in warm Autumn colours.

If I remember correctly Shelagh's quilt was made for a baby and so the three dimensional head dress and jewels were left off.  It has been quilted with a very effective cross hatch design which looks expertly done in this photo. Well done to Shelagh and thank you to John for sending the photo to us to share with everyone.

Elephant by Kathy Dean

Small Elephant Pattern Made by Kathy Dean looks just splendard, well done.

"I attended one of your workshops last year at the Melbourne Craft Show, and really enjoyed doing the elephant. ... I’m very pleased with the result, and the elephant now imposes itself from our family roomwall.

Because of the elephant, I needed to learn about quilting, and enrolled in a one-day quilting course. ... So now after many years break I am back into all sorts of sewing – patchwork, quilting, and making clothes for my little granddaughter. Thanks for running a relaxing course and encouraging us to go at a pace where we would enjoy doing it. Best wishes for 2009,  Kathy Dean"

Small Zebra Pattern Made by Dennise

"Well at long last I have the Zebra finished & u asked for me to send u a picture so here it is

My mission was to do the prairie points so I had a zebra in each one but that got out of hand & I gave up trying. I just cut the square & folded it & if a zebra finished up it the right place that was just good luck - not too may did -
Thank u for the help u gave me to get the project completed
Dennise"

A fantastic result and we loved the outer edge design.
